We provide specialised Field Chemistry Support for Flooding, Cleaning, Gauging, Drying, and Testing (FCGT) activities during pipeline, flowline, and facility commissioning and decommissioning campaigns. Omega Lab Services chemists operate in the field and in temporary or remote laboratories to perform time-critical testing of parameters such as dissolved oxygen, sulphite, biocide residuals, chloride, solids, hydrocarbons, and density. These measurements are essential to ensure that chemical treatment, cleaning efficiency, corrosion control, and environmental compliance targets are met throughout the campaign. Our team works directly with contractors, operators, and project teams to provide real-time data and technical guidance, enabling safe and successful project execution.
'Flooding, Cleaning, Gauging, Dewatering and Testing'
FloodingThe process of filling a pipeline with water to remove debris, solids, wax, and other sediments. This process is important for ensuring that pipelines are working efficiently. It can also help determine the condition of the pipe construction and installation.
Cleaning and GaugingThe process of removing construction debris and confirming the internal diameter of the system. This is achieved by running pigs through the pipeline propelled by water and correct chemical concentration.
TestingTesting of chemical concentrations during the flooding and dewatering process is important in making sure proper dilution ratio is achieved for safety and meeting environmental regulations. Correct concentration of MEG, Biocide, Corrosion inhibitors etc, ensures the integrity of the pipeline.
