Santos – Ningaloo Vision (NV) is a crude oil production facility where Omega Lab Services was engaged to operate and manage the full scope of production laboratory services. Our role covered the complete day-to-day laboratory operations required to support safe, compliant, and efficient hydrocarbon production. This included continuous sampling, analysis, and reporting for crude oil, produced water, and associated process streams, providing Santos with accurate, timely, and defensible data to support operational decision-making.

Omega Lab Services performed routine and shipment-critical testing of crude oil to verify quality, stability, and export specifications prior to cargo movements. This ensured that all shipments met contractual and regulatory requirements, protecting both product value and Santos’ commercial reputation. At the same time, we carried out comprehensive produced-water analysis to ensure environmental discharge limits were achieved and continuously maintained. Our laboratory data formed the backbone of compliance reporting and environmental assurance for the Ningaloo Vision asset.

In addition to laboratory operations, Omega Lab Services managed the production chemical program on board the Ningaloo Vision. This included monitoring, optimisation, and performance assessment of key chemical treatments such as demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, and biocides. By integrating laboratory results with field observations and process conditions, we ensured chemicals were applied at the correct dosage and timing to maximise separation efficiency, protect equipment, and maintain process stability.

Our team provided continuous technical feedback to production, operations, and engineering teams based on real-time laboratory trends and analytical results. This enabled early identification of process upsets, separation issues, corrosion risks, and water quality deviations. Through data-driven recommendations, Omega Lab Services supported improvements in crude quality, reduced chemical wastage, and enhanced overall production reliability.

By delivering both laboratory operations and production chemistry management as a unified service, Omega Lab Services played a key role in maintaining the Ningaloo Vision’s operational integrity, environmental compliance, and commercial performance. Our contribution ensured that Santos had a dependable, technically robust laboratory and chemistry function supporting one of its offshore crude oil assets.
